Twelve complaint themes were counted across 7,443 App Store reviews, measured per 1,000 reviews inside rolling twelve-month windows. Drivers, late deliveries, app defects and customer service all fell. The rating rose with them, from 1.78 to 2.20.
Three themes moved the other way, and they are the same three: Talabat Pro, the fees and the markup. Pricing complaints have climbed in every window since 2019, from 17 mentions per 1,000 reviews to 181, and they are what stands between 2.20 and the 3.18 this app used to hold.
25.7%
of Talabat's reviews now carry five stars, against 16.0% in the twelve months before. Counting four stars as well, the positive share went from 17.9% to 27.9%.
Mean rating over rolling twelve-month windows, each ending 1 August. Calendar years are avoided deliberately, because the export stops in August and a part-year would put a seasonal dip on one side of every comparison. The gain from the floor is 0.42. Its confidence interval runs from 0.3 to 0.54.
Each rate is mentions per 1,000 reviews of any rating, so a year with more reviews cannot inflate it. Both windows run a full twelve months, so nothing here compares a busy season against a quiet one.
Bar length is the size of the fall relative to the largest. App defects, at 55, are at their lowest rate of the eight windows measured.
Driver conduct ran at 41 mentions per 1,000 reviews in the first window and peaked at 226 in the year to August 2022. It stands at 111 now. The fall of 44 from last year is the largest of any theme in either direction except Talabat Pro, and unlike Pro it moves the same way the rating did.

Everything above counts complaints. This section does the opposite, because a recovery should be audible in what people write when it works. A second classifier scans the 491 reviews of 4 stars or better in the current window and takes the most recent match for each recovered theme, marking the phrase that matched.
“Honestly the most user friendly app ever and the drivers are nice and deliver without damaging the food ever and I had an issue once but it got resolved quickly so great customer support as well.”
“I order mostly past 12 and i still get my delivery on time thanks to all”
“Very organized, easy to use, multiple payment methods, an advanced search strategy, a wide range of shops and services”
“I enjoy using this convenient service, the riders are always clean and happy. Also, if the pickers send incorrect or poor quality items, customer service is great at helping to sort out the issue.”
The nine themes about the service are grouped against the three about money, both as mentions per 1,000 reviews. They have moved in opposite directions for four years. Pricing complaints have risen in every window since 2019 and stand at 181, more than ten times the 17 they started at, while the operational side has come down from 608 to 521.
Mentions per 1,000 reviews, rolling twelve-month windows labelled by end year. Nine themes on the service line, 3 on the pricing line. A review mentioning both is counted on both.
7,443 App Store reviews for Talabat from the United Arab Emirates storefront, covering 8 January 2018 to 1 August 2026, exported on 3 August 2026. One storefront, one platform, one language, so no figure here compares two differently drawn groups of people. Arabic-language reviews are excluded because the theme patterns are written in English and would otherwise measure legibility rather than content. Every review is pattern-matched against the 12 themes rather than sampled.
Rates are mentions per 1,000 reviews of any rating, which is the measure that survives a growing review count. Windows are rolling twelve-month periods ending 1 August rather than calendar years, because the export stops in August. Two limits belong on the figures above. A review is written by someone who chose to write, so a falling rate means the subject came up less often among reviewers rather than that the underlying problem was solved. And theme patterns match wording, which drifts over eight years.
Nine of the 12 themes fell together and the rating moved 0.42 with them. A turnaround visible in one measure and nowhere else is usually a measurement artefact.
Measured on calendar years this same data reports a 0.5 gain. On matched twelve-month windows it is 0.42, because the collapse that set the floor happened in one quarter.
As a share of complaints, late delivery looks unchanged. Per 1,000 reviews it went from 177 to 141, which is the third largest fall on the board.
Every service theme fell while all 3 pricing themes rose. Talabat Pro alone went from 41 mentions per 1,000 reviews to 79.
